versity.net/sessionPop.cfm?confid=148&proposalid=13775\nData Governance and
Leadership are both about helping our organizations succeed, and DGIQ is a
n opportunity to help build the skills in both areas. In this keynote, Anth
ony Algmin will explore how you can create more value for your organiz
ation, and in turn, create new career opportunities for yourself
by becoming a Data Governance Leader.\n\nWhile most of this week will
be spent on understanding the “what” and “how” we t
ake action to deliver Data Governance and Information Quality, they are&nbs
p;not the entire picture. We can’t stop at learning. We must apply th
e lessons of DGIQ and use them to transform our companies. Additionally, ev
en though the broader data community has grown substantially in recent year
s, we still have a long way to go before we’re at the scale and level
of influence that's needed. To achieve this growth and influence, we n
eed more and smarter perspectives, and we need more thought leaders!\n\nThi
s inspiring keynote will be presented by Anthony J. Algmin, who has present
ed at over one-hundred events and conferences. He is one of DATAVERSITY&rsq
uo;s most popular conference educators and online training instructors, and
his name has become synonymous with the concept of Data Leadership" t
hrough his book Data Leadership and as the host of the popular Data Leaders
hip Lessons podcast. Just 15 years ago he’d done none of these t
hings, as he was attending a data governance conference for the first time.
\n\nAnthony will talk briefly about why and how he got started on this path
. He will provide advice on what it means to effectively "lead&qu
ot; data governance, how to develop your skills to become a data governance
leader, and how to position yourself with the audiences that need to
hear your message, internally or externally. He'll of course share some
key lessons learned from his journey along the way. Highlights Includ
e:\n\n\n	Thought leadership starts wherever you are\n
Breaking out of your comfort zone with slightly unrealistic expectations of
yourself and others\n	Stop thinking and get started\n\n
